With three ATP Tour 250 tournaments being simultaneously played this past week, three new champions were crowned today.

The US Men’s Clay Court Championship in Houston, Texas, the Millennium Estoril Open in Estoril, Portugal and, in Africa’s only ATP tournament this year, the Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakech, Morocco all had final round matches today.

At the US Men’s Clay Court Championship, Frances Tiafoe, the #1 seed, emerged victorious over Tomas Martin Etcheverry, of Argentina, with a final score of 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (8-6).

At the Millenium Estoril Open, Casper Ruud, also the #1 seed, defeated Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).

At the Grand Prix Hassan II, Roberto Carballes Baena, of Spain, defeated Alexandre Muller, of France, in a thriller with a final score of 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.

This win, only his second for the #77 ranked Spaniard, must have been especially satisfying as, along the way, he defeated #38 ranked Maxime Cressy, #35 ranked Tallon Griekspoor and #30 ranked Daniel Evans.
